Yes. Texas wills don't legally require notarization, but a self-proving affidavit notarized at signing prevents probate witnesses from being called later. Trusts and most estate-planning documents do require notarization. We charge from $150 (wills) and from $175 (trusts).
Texas law does not require a will to be notarized to be valid. However, attaching a self-proving affidavit — signed by the testator and witnesses and notarized at the same time — allows the will to be admitted to probate without locating witnesses later. Most estate attorneys recommend this step.
Bring a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID (driver license, passport, or state ID — original, not a copy), the complete unsigned documents, and all required witnesses if your document calls for them. Do not sign before the notary arrives; we must witness the signing in person.
